ABSTRACT

The objectives of the research were on 3 folds: 1) to study the biography and the works of PhrakruVimonkunakarn (Suk Ksaro), 2) to study the Role of Buddhism’s Propagation of PhrakruVimonkunakarn and 3) to study the ways of Buddhism’s Propagation of PhrakruVimonkunakarn to apply on Thai Sangha in the present.

This study was a qualitative research focusing on the study of some documents consisting of Tipitaka, commentaries as well as textbooks, documents and some related research papers.

The results of this study revealed as follow:

1. PhrakruVimonkunakarn ordained as a Buddhist monk at Bhodibangken monastery or Bhodithonglang monastery is located in mouth of the low canal of Bangken District but Bhodithongbon monastery is located in mouth of the north canal of Bangken District, Patumthani province. When he was ordained, studied the principles of Dhamma and had a deep faith in Dhamma. He was both expert and special in Tipitaka scriptures and Insight meditation. He is a special one of the various superstitions and well-known to local and neighboring people as well as Bangkok. There were many works of PhrakruVimonkunakorn, including chanting small Buddha image and making many of sacred subjects to be lucky in life.

2) The Role of Buddhist Propagation of PhrakruVimonkunakorn used on the 4 aspects of Buddha’s Style i.e. Sandassana (elucidation and verification), Samadapannana (inspiration towards the goal), Samuttejana (encouragement) and Sampahamsana (filling with delight and joy) when the missionary could follow as it is said so, the benefits would be arising to the audiences on the 3 aspects i.e. Ditthadhammikattha (the good to be won in this life), Samparayikattha (the good to be won in the life to come) and Paramattha (the final goal i.e. Nibbana), which would highly be benefits for achieving the orders of Dhamma i.e. Sotapanna (Stream-Enterer), Sakadagami (Once-Returner), Anagami ( Non-Returner) and Arahanta (Worthy One)

3) The ways of Buddhist Propagation of PhrakruVimonkunakorn can apply to Thai Sangha in the present for 51 years of a holy life of Phrakru-Vimonkunakorn in Buddhism. He strictly followed towards the principles of Buddha’s teachings, dedicated the power of his body and mind to promote Buddhism. He is practitioner, missionary, developer and almoner, which should be studying. The works of PhrakruVimonkunakorn can analyze the ways of his Buddhist Propagation in order to apply on the 4 aspects i.e. Education, Government, Propagation and Public assistance.
