This  thesis is of objectives  three objectives  : 1   to  study history, context of Sihinggakanidana , 2  to  study the influence of Sihinggakanidana to Buddhism in Lanna  3 to analyze the content of Sihinggakanidana that has an effect on Lanna society.

   From the study, it was be found that the writing down of the legends in Lanna whether it was the legends on Buddhism or the history of the kingdoms, there were the same writing styles: direct religious contents and the historical contents or concealed with historical data of the country or the kingdom.   The legend of Sihinggakanidana was written by Phra Bodhirangsí Thera and its contents focused on the historical background of Phra Buddha Sihing and the events of those days. It was said that, it was recorded the chronicles of history on politics and Buddhism which has strengthened and completely settled in Lanna from the past to present.

The influence of Sihinggakanidana legend led to widespread of the Buddhist arts. It became the writing style of Buddha image’s history in the later days. It also supports the Phra Buddha Sihing and become the sacred Buddha image that was built for worship. The belief of Buddha Sihing becomes the traditional practices of the people.  It is believed that Phra Buddha Sihing image was the spiritual booster due to its long historical background, beautiful Buddhist art conforming to the idea of Mahapurisa characteristics. In addition, the legend of Sihinggakanidana concealed the Buddhist philosophy for making greater in the intelligence and the way of life as well.

      The legend of Sihinggakanidana can be analyzed in the form of the chaotic events existing in the past. It resulted to As  a result of that Phra Bhodhiransri Thera wrote down this scripture and based on the scripture of Mahavamsa as the primary source.  The author held the Buddha image as the main idea in order to describe the history background of Phra Buddha Sihing. It was likely the symbol of the Lankavamsa Buddhist Order. The Phra Buddha Sihing image has become the identity of Lanna region; it was a valuable Buddhist art with its meaning concealed the Buddhist philosophy and the faiths of the people. It created the Buddhist art archetypes of the Phra Buddha Sihing and widespread throughout the Lanna region.

The research showed the legend of Sihinggakanidana related to the Lanna culture and accumulatively developed for such a long period of time. It showed the modernization and its own unique. It reflected the beliefs of Buddhist people that guided to create the tradition and culture. It also influenced over the Lanna people and taught them to gain the great vision, wisdom and created the identity of Lanna till the modern time.
