Abstract

Abstract

 

            This thesis is of 3 objectives, namely:- 1. to study the way of practicing Kammaṭṭhānas as appearing in Buddhism. 2. to study the way of practicing Kammaṭṭhāna taught by Laung-Poo-Man Bhūridatto and 3. to analyze the way of practicing the Meditation taught by Laung-Poo-Man Bhūridatto according to the Buddhist way.

            This research is a qualitative one emphasing the study and the research from documents by checking the primary data from the Three Baskets, the Commentaries and the secondary data and the academic texts and the related documents and researches.

 

From  the  research, It  is  found  that  

            1. Kammaṭṭhāna in Buddhism is the way to practice and to train one’s mind to be of the purity and to be away from the sufferings. This point is regarded as the inset important activity in Buddhism.  The practice of Kammaṭṭhāna according to the Buddhist  principles as appearing in the Three Baskets is of two types:- 1. Samatha Kammaṭṭhāna Vipassanā Kammaṭṭhāna.  

            2 The ways of practicing Vipassānnā by Ven Laung Pū Mantan emphasizes the real practice as importance without emphazing the understanding in the principle of Puriyatti or the study from the periftures, but it emphasizes the perfect practice in the Three Sikkahā to help the monks and  laymen to attain Arohantaship. Ven Laung-Poo-Man emphasized the practice in Dina, Sila and Bhevanā to help them to have the general way of leading their lesson. This fact is the important target of the practice of the Dhammas which is in compliance with the way in the Three Baskets.

            3.   The way of teaching in practicing the subjects of Meditation taught by Laung Poo Man emphasizes the consideration of the body or Kāyānupassanā Kammaṭṭhāna beginning from Mūlo-Kammaṭṭhāna or 5 Kammaṭṭhānas :- the hair, the feather, nailes, the teeth and skin. Such the practice is in compliance with the principle of practice to came the mind to be pure in the Buddhist way.  That is to train the mind to consider the body.  After considering realizing in this way, one’s mind will be away from the supposition and be in Vimutta which is being away all the sufferings.
