A Guideline of Development on the Five Precepts Observing Project by Secondary Schools in Bangplama District Suphanburi Province

Abstract

Objectives of this study were: 1. to study students’ opinions on guidelines of five precepts observing project development by secondary schools at Bangplama District, Supanburi Province, 2. To study guidelines of five precepts observing project development  by secondary schools at Bangplama District, Supanburi Province, 3. To study problems, obstacles and recpmmendations for five precepts observing project by secondary schools at Bangplama  District, Supanburi Province. 

Methodology was the mixed method: The quantitative research collected data by questionnaires with the reliability value at 0.750 from 274 samples who were students at: 1) Sungsumanpadungvit School; 2) Hansasuchitvittaya School; 3) Bang Maemairatrartrangsarit School at Bangplama District, Supanburi Province, analyzed data  by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, SD., t-test, F-test, one way ANOVA. The qualitative research collected data from 9 key informants by in-depth-interview and analyzed data by descriptive interpretation.


 

Findings were as follows:

            1. Students’ opinions on the five precepts observing project development by secondary schools at Bangplama Districtr, Supanburi Province, by overall were at high level( = 3.89, S.D. = 0.88), Input aspect was at high level ( = 3.85, S.D. = 0.90),the lowest level was the development process at ( = 8.80 S.D. = 0.91).

            2. Comparison of students’ opinions on the five precept observing project Development by secondary schools at Bangplama District, Supanburi Province, classified by personal data indicated that students, Students with different age and educational levels had different opinions at statistically significant level at 0.05, accepting the set hypothesis.

            3. Problems, obstacles and recommendations of the five precepts observing project development by secondary schools at Bangplama District, Supanburi Province in dicated that there was not project analysis, lack of integrating schools with the same project targets and objectives. Some schools did not evaluate and adjust the project, lack of supporting budget and there was not evaluation at the end of project.

            Recommendations:  Sangha should analyze general context of the project of the agency to which the schools belong. There should be internal preparation, systematic data collection, Sangha should analyze the availability of supporting factors, such as sufficient budget, personnel, equipment, media for project development and the course contents used for students development. Sangha should have internal analysis of the project, such as planning, activities, learning and teaching process, monitoring and evaluation, support from the mother agency. Sangha should analyze students who participated in the project whether they are volunteering minded, ethical and moral with the five precepts. The output and outcomes of the project should be used as the foundation for further continuous operation.
