Learning Management for Developing Higher Secondary School Students Ethicd In Social Studies, Religion and Culture Learning Areas in Phrapariyattidhamma Schools (General Education), Mueang Disyrict, Nongkhai Province (Teaching Social Studies)

Abstract

The aims of this study were: to study and compare the opinions of the samples towards the learning management for developing the Higher Secondary school students’ ethics in Social Studies, Religion and Culture Department in Phrapariyatti Dhamma schools (general education) in Mueang district, Nongkhai province with its primary hypothesis that the mean scores of the opinions on the learning management for developing the Higher Secondary school students’ ethics in Social Studies, Religion and Culture Department in Phrapariyatti Dhamma schools with the difference of samples’ factors: levels of education and school sizes were different with the statistical significance level of 0.05. This study was conducted by the survey research with 354 sample, selected by simple sampling and using a questionnaire to collect the data. The statistics used were: Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, f-test and ANOVA.

The research results were as follows:

1) The mean scores of the learning management for developing the Higher Secondary school students’ ethics in Social Studies, Religion and Culture Department in Phrapariyatti Dhamma schools in overall and each studied aspect perspectives were at a high level. The highest one can be seen in that of Curriculum and Social Studies, followed by Learning Media and Learning Management, Measurement and Evaluation and Learning Activities respectively.

2) The comparison of the opinions of the samples towards the learning management for developing the Higher Secondary school students’ ethics in Social Studies, Religion and Culture Department in Phrapariyatti Dhamma schools showed the differences of the f-values according to the samples’ personal factors: levels of education and school sizes with the statistical significance level of 0.05; this was consistent with the set hypothesis.

3) The suggestions on the learning management for developing the Higher Secondary school students’ ethics in Social Studies, Religion and Culture Department in Phrapariyatti Dhamma schools (general education) in Mueang district, Nongkhai province are that in terms of ‘Curriculum and Social Studies’, the learning subjects should be suitable and consistent with the needs and the curriculum must be integrated with the local needs; in terms of ‘Learning Activities’, the students must have knowledge and be able to apply new innovations properly; the activity management should be up to date and be applied in daily life; in terms of ‘Learning Media and Learning Management’, the learning activities should promote the learners’ thinking through lecture, questioning and presenting opinions and during the learning process, the students should be given an opportunity to raise their opinions and their suggestions should be taken in account; in terms of ‘Measurement and Evaluation’, the teachers should have the evaluation form of the activities for developing the ethics and morality; they should organize the meeting to summarize the result of the operation to promote the ethics and morality for the students.
