ABSTRACT

The objectives of this research are 1) to study the Sangha  Administration in Period of the Buddha Era and thereafter, 2) to study the efficiency of the Sangha  Administration in Sena District, Ayutthaya Province, Classified by Personal Factors, and  3) to study the problems, obstacles and suggestions towards the efficiency of the Sangha  Administration in Sena District, Ayutthaya Province. The survey research was carried out in this study. The samples used in this study were 230 Buddhist monks in Sena District, Ayutthaya Province, being drawn by cluster sampling technique. The tool used in data collection was questionnaire comprising open-ended. The data analysis was computed by using statistical techniques such as the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T- test and analysis Anova (One way analysis of variance), and to compare the differences of paired means, the Least Significant Difference (LSD) was employed.

The findings of this research are as follows:

1) Sanha Administration in the Buddha period used the Dhamma and Vinaya in the Administration. For the, Sangha Administration according to Supreme Sanghe present law Volume 15 No. 5,the Administration are divide into 6 aspects, namely, 1)Administrative, 2) Ecclesiastical Education, 3) Education Support, 4) Buddhist propagation, 5) Buddhist Constructions and Reparation, and 6) Public Welfare.    

2) Comparison of the opinions of Buddhist monks towards the Sangha Administration in Sena District, Ayutthaya Province, classified by personal factors were, Buddhist monks have age, years of ordination, position of the Sangha, and level of Dhamma studies different, the opinions towards the Sangha Administration in Sena District, Ayutthaya Province, overall, no significant difference. Therefore reject the hypothesis. The level of Pali studies and general education different in Buddhist monks, the opinions towards the Sangha Administration in Sena District, Ayutthaya Province, overall difference. Therefore accept the hypothesis, significant at the .05 level.

3) The Problems, obstacles and suggestions relating to the efficiency of the Sangha Administration in Sena District, Ayutthaya Province were founded that Some of Monks are not Understand the teaching of the Buddha and Sangha Administrative law. They are lack of Monks and Novices Participation in Planning and regulation proper for Sangha Administration development train the by putting Some project such as monks and novices train, taking care program and give the honor to them et.
